Step two — Collect

Capture clearly, even without reception.

Take prepared work into the field and record collections, observations, GPS and guided photos. Work saves to the device first and syncs visibly when signal returns.

One field record · Three connected moments

Observe. Photograph. Collect.

  1. 01Observe
NativeFlow observation for Epacris impressa showing its linked plant location, flowering status and four photos.
Record the plant, its condition and its place.
  2. 02Photograph

Offline

Save first. Sync later. Always.

Offline is how field capture works here, every time, whether or not you have bars. Prepared plans, sites, known plants and species context are available on the device. Records save locally first and move through a visible queue when the signal returns, in the right order: the plant before the observation about it.

Show all 6 features
Installable field app
Add it to the home screen from Safari on an iPhone or Chrome on Android, and carry prepared work with you.
Works fully offline
Plans, sites, plants, species profiles and images cached for use with no signal.
Save first, sync later
Records save to the device immediately and queue for upload.
See what has uploaded
A sync screen showing what's waiting to upload, what's done, and anything that needs you.
One record, however bad the signal
A dropped connection or a retry still leaves you with exactly one copy.
Two people, one plant? You get asked
When two edits collide, the app brings both to a person and waits. It picks no winner of its own.
02

Capture

Record the plant, not just the pin.

Collections, observations and plant locations, each with position and photos attached. Come back to a plant you already know and the visit lands on that plant's history, alongside every earlier one. Photos are captured by role, from whole plant down to bark and tag, and the app tells you which ones are still missing to identify something you couldn't name in the field.

Show all 10 features
Collections
Record what you took: species, quantity, position and photos, in one pass.
Observations
Every visible phenology phase with optional prevalence, plus collectable seed crop, condition and presence.
Plant locations
Mark an individual plant or population, with a discovery record and photos.
Revisits
Return to a known plant and add to the history you already hold on it.
Identification state
Mark a plant unidentified, provisional or confirmed, so a name nobody has verified yet is never mistaken for one that has.
Identification prompts
Which photos are still missing to identify an unknown plant.
Photos with roles
Habit, leaf, flower, fruit, bark, tag and site context, each prompted with what a useful shot looks like.
GPS you can trust
Every position is saved with how precise the fix was, in metres, or placed by hand on a map.
Ad-hoc collections
Capture unplanned work with no plan behind it.
Office entry
Enter the same records on the web when someone worked from paper.
03

Photopoints

Repeat photography that actually repeats.

Fixed photopoints with the previous photo overlaid live in the viewfinder, so the retake lines up. The app scores the alignment while you're still standing at the point, which is the one moment a bad frame can still be fixed. Each capture also yields an indicative whole-frame greenness reading, so the series plots as a curve you can read at a glance.

Show all 5 features
Fixed photopoints
Repeatable monitoring positions with a stored reference image.
Ghost overlay viewfinder
The previous photo overlaid live in the camera.
Alignment score
How well the new frame matches the reference, scored on site.
Greenness over time
An indicative whole-frame greenness reading per capture, plotted across the series.
Photopoint series
The full run of captures at a point, in order.

Your forms

The form your organisation already uses.

Build the collection and observation forms you already work to, with a visual builder and live preview. Change a form whenever you need to. Past records keep the form they were captured on, so today's edit leaves last season's data exactly as it was.

Show all 5 features
Custom fieldwork forms
Build the collection and observation forms your methodology already calls for.
Visual builder
Assemble forms from widgets with live preview.
Purpose-specific forms
Separate templates for collection and for observation.
Built-in widgets
Drop in coordinates, notes and a collector signature without building them yourself.
Form history
Records keep the form they were captured on, so a later edit never rewrites them.
